Direct Sarajevo-Ankara flights to launch soon

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Communications and Transport Edin Forto met in Istanbul with Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in transport infrastructure, with a focus on road and rail transport as well as digitalization, CE Report informs via the BiH's Ministry of Communications and Transport.

Special emphasis was placed on the development of air transport and the imminent launch of a direct Sarajevo–Ankara flight, which represents a new step forward in connecting the two countries.

“Türkiye is an important economic partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and our goal is to strengthen cooperation between our two countries. The direct Sarajevo–Ankara line that we expect soon is precisely a concrete step in that direction,” Minister Forto said.

Minister Forto also invited Minister Uraloğlu to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was accepted, and the visit is expected no later than this summer. On that occasion, meetings with Bosnian and Herzegovinian business representatives are also planned, aimed at further enhancing economic cooperation and defining specific infrastructure projects.
