Turkish Airlines plane lands safely in Chisinau after malfunction
A passenger aircraft arriving from Istanbul landed safely at Chișinău International Airport "Eugen Doga" after experiencing technical problems during the flight. The information was confirmed to MOLDPRES by Irina Bodolică, spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC).
None of the passengers were injured, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
"The Civil Aviation Authority confirms the occurrence of a technical incident today during Turkish Airlines flight TK269 on the Istanbul–Chișinău route," said Irina Bodolică, representative of the Civil Aviation Authority.
She specified that during the approach for landing, the aircraft crew informed air traffic control about aborting the landing maneuver and performing a go-around due to a technical malfunction in the flap control system.
Subsequently, after declaring an emergency, the aircraft entered a holding procedure, following all operational protocols provided for such situations.
"The aircraft landed in complete safety at Chișinău International Airport at 07:26 UTC. Although emergency services were on alert in accordance with protocol, their intervention was not necessary. No one on board was harmed," the AAC representative stated.
The Civil Aviation Authority will analyze the incident to determine the exact causes of the technical malfunction.
