The “Adem Jashari” International Airport in Pristina achieved a historic milestone in August this year, welcoming over 500,000 passengers. This is the highest number ever recorded and is considered one of the airport’s greatest successes since its opening.

Airport spokesperson Valentina Gara told that passenger growth has been steady since the beginning of the year, with an increase of around 16 percent from January to June, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Gara noted that this is the first time the airport has reached half a million passengers in a single month. According to her, the most popular destinations continue to be Switzerland and Germany, which lead in passenger numbers traveling through the airport.

She also announced that starting September 28, passengers will be able to fly to Lyon, France with EasyJet, and from October 1, flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will be available. This year, new flights to Helsinki and Paris have also begun with GP Aviation and ASA Airlines.

Despite the increased passenger flow, airport operations have continued smoothly thanks to well-organized infrastructure planning and increased staffing. The airport has had an exceptional year, with a significant rise in passenger numbers and an ambitious target of reaching 4.5 million passengers by the end of 2025. In 2024, over 4 million passengers were served, a 19.20% increase compared to 2023, while the number of flights increased by 16.14%. This growth trend has continued into 2025.
