SUP Tours in Danube Delta
Cristian Mocanu, a 30-year-old entrepreneur from Tulcea, is introducing stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) tours in the Danube Delta, promoting a slow, eco-friendly approach to tourism. Inspired by a SUP competition during the Anonimul Film Festival in 2017, Mocanu began exploring alternatives to traditional motorized tours, CE Report quotes AGERPRES
With support from his father, he crafted his first paddleboard in 2020 and later expanded his activities to Bucharest and Constanta. Now, his Delta SUP tours offer a six-hour catamaran trip to a lake, where guests paddle with provided gear, enjoy fruit, water, and an optional fish lunch.
Though still in its early stages, Mocanu hopes the initiative will shift local mindsets toward more sustainable tourism. Trips cost RON 250 per person (half-price for children), with lunch available for RON 80.
