The City of Roses in Albania has in recent years become a destination for both local and foreign visitors.

This has led to an increase in hospitality facilities in the city to accommodate tourists, CE Report quotes ATA.

The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, shared on social media the example of two young people who, with the support of their parents, have opened a hotel in Përmet.

“‘Hotel White Villa’ is an excellent model of hospitality by two young people from Përmet, Keli and Angjelina, with the undeniable support of their parents, who have transformed the space where they once sold ordinary goods into a hotel and welcoming venue offering local products prepared by the mother and wine produced on the family farm by the father,” said Kumbaro.

The minister stated that “the entire requalification of the neighborhood and promenade has encouraged a shift in private investments toward the tourism economy.”

“These two bright young people have entered the tourism business because there is no longer any doubt in Vjosa’s welcoming Përmet that it is worth investing and working in this natural tourism destination that everyone falls in love with,” said Kumbaro.

Keli said, “From a simple shop run by our parents, we transformed it into a restaurant and hotel, taking another step toward the fast-growing tourism sector.”

Entrepreneurship in the tourism sector in Përmet has become an important driver of economic development, helping diversify economic activities and increase employment.
