Partial Restrictions Imposed on Voice Calls via WhatsApp, Telegram
Russian authorities have introduced measures to partially restrict phone calls via WhatsApp and Telegram in order to counter criminal activities, announced the state telecommunications agency Roskomnadzor, as reported by Interfax, CE Report quotes ANSA.
According to law enforcement and numerous citizen reports, the foreign messaging apps Telegram and WhatsApp have become the main voice services used for scams, extortion, sabotage, and terrorism-related activities by Russian citizens, stated the agency.
