U.S. Navy F-35 Crashes in California
A U.S. Navy F-35 fighter jet crashed yesterday in central California near the Lemoore Naval Air Station, the Navy announced in a press release, adding that the pilot safely ejected, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The F-35 is a fighter jet used by over 17 countries and is valued at around $100 million (over €87 million).
This is the second U.S. military aircraft of this type to crash this year, following an Air Force F-35 that went down in January near Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska during a training mission. In that case as well, the pilot ejected safely.
