Some foreign students at Harvard have expressed fear about attending graduation ceremonies this week, according to Maureen Martin, the university’s Director of Immigration Services, in a new court filing, CE Report quotes ANSA.

Some American students are also reconsidering the idea of enrolling in university this fall due to actions taken by the Trump administration, Martin stated in a sworn declaration ahead of a hearing today in a federal court in Boston.

According to Martin, faculty and administration have been overwhelmed with concerns from worried students:

“Some are afraid to attend their own graduation ceremonies this week for fear of immigration-related actions being taken against them.”

Others have canceled upcoming international trips, whether for academic research or to visit their families, fearing they may not be allowed back into the United States.
