Kosovo judo celebrates another major success

Distria Krasniqi has secured another major success for Kosovar judo by qualifying for the final of the European Senior Championships 2026, currently being held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The Olympic champion continues her excellent form, successfully advancing through all rounds to reach the grand final.

Her journey to the final began with convincing victories in the early stages, while in the quarterfinals, she dominated her opponent to secure a place in the semifinals.

At that stage, Krasniqi faced Italy’s Odette Giuffrida, whom she defeated with a Yuko after a very tough and tactical match, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

In the grand final, Krasniqi will face France’s Amandine Buchard in a duel expected to be spectacular and decisive for the European gold medal.

This match revives a well-known rivalry on the international stage, where both judokas have often delivered intense contests.
