Fenerbahce close to signing Romelu Lukaku
Fenerbahce are reportedly close to signing Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku after reaching an agreement with Napoli over his transfer.
According to Turkish and Italian media reports, the Istanbul club will pay around €10 million for Lukaku. The parties are now discussing only the payment structure and a few final details of the agreement,CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Fenerbahce had been pushing for the Belgian striker’s transfer for some time, while Napoli initially demanded around €12 million. However, the Turkish club’s officials maintained their €10 million offer, which has reportedly been accepted by the Italian side.
Lukaku is expected to sign a two-year contract with Fenerbahce, with an annual salary of around €10 million.
Lukaku’s own desire to accelerate the transfer is also said to have played a role in bringing the deal closer to completion. His representative, Federico Pastorello, is handling the final details of the move.
According to Italian media, an official announcement could be made at any moment, while Fenerbahce aim to bring Lukaku to Istanbul this week for his medical examination and contract signing.
Napoli are also working on a move for Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal. In order to create space in the squad and budget, the Italian club is expected to part ways with several players, including Lukaku, while Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca could also leave.
