Mircea Lucescu’s condition worsens after heart complications
The condition of the Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu, who suffered a heart attack a few days ago, has suddenly worsened, reports AS.
On March 29, the 80-year-old coach was urgently hospitalized after losing consciousness during a training session with the Romanian national team, CE Report quotes MIA.
On April 3, while preparing to be discharged, he suffered an acute myocardial infarction, which required emergency intervention.
Yesterday, Lucescu again developed significant heart arrhythmias that did not respond to treatment. As a result, he was transferred to the intensive care unit. The coach is currently in a hospital in Bucharest.
On April 2, Lucescu resigned from his position as head coach of the Romanian national team, which he had led since 2024. During his coaching career, he also worked at Pisa, Brescia, Reggiana, Inter, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Zenit.
