Prime Minister Kurti praises Kosovo’s historic World Cup journey
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has sent an official letter to the president of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Agim Ademi, expressing his deep appreciation for the historic journey of the “Dardanians” in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Although the dream ended in the playoff final, Kurti highly appreciated the work of the technical staff and head coach Franco Foda, stating:
“The work, dedication, and seriousness built within this team are not lost in a single match.”
In his message, the prime minister acknowledged the pain of the loss against Turkey, but urged football leaders not to stop the progress that has begun.
“I know yesterday’s loss hurts, especially when we were so close,” Kurti wrote, adding that while the final result matters, the belief instilled in the nation is an even greater achievement.
He called for full focus on the qualifications for the European Championship, closing the letter with the promise that the government and the people will be “together at every step” toward future successes.
