Bulgarian tennis talent wins ITF M25 tournament in Spain
Bulgarian tennis talent Ivan Ivanov won the most important title of his professional career at the ITF M25 tournament in Tarragona, Spain.
The 17-year-old player defeated Spaniard Alex Marti Pujorlas (ranked 562) 6-3, 6-2 in the final.
The Bulgarian lost only two sets across the five matches played during the tournament. His most notable victory came against world number 333, Sean Cuenin, in the first round – Ivanov made a spectacular comeback from 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 against a much higher-ranked opponent, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
This is Ivanov’s second professional title, following his win last year at the M15 tournament in Szentendre, Hungary. In 2025, he also claimed two of the four junior Grand Slam titles, winning at Wimbledon and the US Open.
This was his third ITF final of the year, after two others at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, Spain. With the updated ranking, the teenager, currently ranked 780th in the world, will approach the top 600.
