The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has personally contacted the families of Lana Boljević, Marko Pavlović and Mihailo Gajić to inform them that he has submitted a proposal to the competent authorities to grant Montenegrin citizenship to these exceptionally talented young athletes.

In conversations with their parents, he expressed his support and respect for the results, work and dedication that these young athletes have demonstrated on both the domestic and international stage, CE Report informs via the President of Montenegro's official website.

Speaking about Lana Boljević, he highlighted her outstanding achievements in international competitions, particularly at the European Championships in Athens, stressing that Montenegro recognises athletes who, through their success and conduct, represent the country with dignity.

Regarding Marko Pavlović, one of the most promising young water polo players, he emphasised that the state strongly supports young athletes whose talent, discipline and potential form the foundation of the future success of Montenegrin sport.

As for Mihailo Gajić, the president noted that he is a young athlete who, in addition to exceptional talent, demonstrates maturity, responsibility and values that are in line with the highest standards of representing Montenegro on the international stage.

President Milatović expressed his expectation that the procedure will be completed soon and announced a meeting with the young athletes at a formal ceremony, where he will personally present them with Montenegrin passports.

The families of the young athletes thanked the president for his support and the trust shown, noting that such recognition is a strong incentive for further work and dedication, with a firm determination to represent Montenegro in the best possible way.

“Montenegro recognises and rewards excellence. It is our duty to stand by young people who, through their work, talent and conduct, earn the trust of the state. When they represent Montenegro, Montenegro stands with them,” the president said.
