Moldova crowns new U-23 wrestling champions in Chișinău
The Chișinău Institute of Physical Education and Sports hosted the National U-23 Wrestling Championship, which brought together over 200 athletes from across the country.
The competition, organized with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Research, included freestyle, Greco-Roman, and women’s wrestling and represents the final stage before promotion to the senior category, giving athletes the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and earn the national champion title, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
At the official opening, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education and Research, Sergiu Gurin, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of this age category for the development of athletes’ careers.
National champions – freestyle wrestling:
Ion Bulgaru (57 kg), Vasile Marcu (61 kg), Feodor Ceavdari (65 kg), Alexandr Gaidarlî (71 kg), Ion Marcu (74 kg), Vlad Stratan (79 kg), Eugen Mihalcean (86 kg), Alexandru Borș (92 kg), Constantin Buza (97 kg), Dmitrii Dușcov (125 kg).
Greco-Roman wrestling champions:
Maxim Sarmanov (55 kg), Alin Chitic (60 kg), Pavel Denisenco (63 kg), Vitalie Eriomenco (67 kg), Vasile Zabica (72 kg), Alexandru Solovei (77 kg), Marius Stiharu (82 kg), Mihai Tofan (87 kg), Alexandr Pleșcan (97 kg), Daniil Zubcov (130 kg).
Women’s wrestling champions:
