FIFA fines Montenegro FA following incidents vs Croatia
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed a new sanction – the Football Association of Montenegro has been fined 46,500 Swiss francs due to incidents involving fans during the World Cup 2026 qualifier against Croatia.
The match was played on November 17 in Podgorica, with Croatia winning 3–2 after the hosts had taken a 2–0 lead, CE Report quotes MIA.
The statement notes that 1,500 Swiss francs were imposed for throwing objects onto the pitch, while 25,000 Swiss francs were for the use of pyrotechnics.
The sanction also includes a suspended fine of 20,000 Swiss francs, which will not be activated over the next six months, as the Football Association of Montenegro is part of an anti-discrimination project.
