North Macedonia makes strong start in Yellow Cup opener

Victory at the start of the “Yellow Cup” for the North Macedonian handball players, who defeated Bahrain 32–28 (15–13) in the opening match.

Today, in the second round of the tournament, the North Macedonian team will face Ukraine (kick-off at 17:45), CE Report quotes MIA.

The players coached by head coach Kiril Lazarov maintained a constant lead in the first half and went into halftime ahead 15–13. At the beginning of the second half, Bahrain took their only lead of the match at 20–19, but that seemed to serve as a wake-up call for the North Macedonian handball players, who raised their level of play and pulled away to a five-goal advantage, 29–24.

In this match, Lazarov gave playing time to all the handball players.

In the first match of the tournament, the host Switzerland defeated Ukraine 38–27.
