Slovenian ski jumping star wins third consecutive Two Nights Tour
Slovenia's best women's ski jumper Nika Prevc has won the prestigious Two Nights Tour for a third consecutive time despite finishing fourth in the second event in Oberstdorf.
Prevc, who won the first event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, had a disappointing start in Oberstdorf, CE Report quotes The Slovenia Times.
Battling tricky wind conditions, the 20-year-old jumped 105.5m for 105.4 points, leaving her in 17th place.
But Slovenian bounced back with a 128.5-metre jump in the second round to finish 11.6 points behind the Canadian Abigail Strate, who claimed her first World Cup victory.
"I'm very satisfied with the overall win", Prevc said. "Four out of five jumps were really good. I'm a little bit sad that I was too nervous in the first round, but the second round was really good. I can go home happy."
The Two Nights Tour is the women's equivalent of the men's Four Hills Tournament. The women are expected to compete in the Four Hills Tournament next season.
Prevc is currently in second place in the World Cup rankings, behind Nozomi Maruyama of Japan.
