FIFA imposes transfer ban on Partizan Belgrade

Sports

The world football governing body FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on FK Partizan for the next three transfer windows.

The ban will be automatically lifted if the club’s management settles the outstanding debt, as has been the case previously with teams placed on FIFA’s suspension list, CE Report quotes MIA.

Partizan’s sanction is due to a debt of €1.3 million owed to former player Patrick Andrade. Andrade played 26 matches for the Belgrade club in one season. The player filed a lawsuit against the club last year.

An additional problem for the “black-and-whites” is that the club will have to react quickly and clear its debts in order to obtain a license to compete in European competitions next season.

As reported by CE Report, St Mirren shocked Celtic to win the Scottish League Cup final.
