Moldovan boxer wins historic world championship bronze
Boxer Alexandru Paraschiv achieved a historic performance for the Republic of Moldova by winning the bronze medal at the Senior World Boxing Championships — the first world-level medal for the country in this category, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
In the semifinal against Uzbekistan’s Asadkhoja Muydinkhujaev, a world and Olympic champion, Paraschiv started spectacularly, managing to knock his opponent down early in the bout.
However, after three intense rounds, the judges awarded the victory to the Uzbek boxer, leaving the Moldovan athlete with the bronze medal.
