Kosovo invests in stadium upgrade to boost sports infrastructure

Although considered one of the most complete stadiums in Kosovo, the “Zahir Pajaziti” stadium is set to undergo further modernization, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The Government of Kosovo has allocated a budget of 2 million euros for new investments in the sports arena.

Tahir Batatina, coach of Llapi — the team that plays its home matches at the stadium — told KosovaPress about the planned upgrades.

“The changes to the ‘Zahir Pajaziti’ stadium will start with the eastern stand, which will have around 500 VIP seats, separating VIP fans from regular spectators. In addition to the eastern stand, the stadium will have a roof covering all four sections, as well as new lighting. I believe these improvements will complete the stadium’s final phase of investment, leaving nothing more to add,” Batatina said.

He added that construction work will not prevent Llapi from playing its home matches at “Zahir Pajaziti.”

While the stadium is being modernized, Batatina also spoke about the team’s reinforcements as the new season approaches, as well as Llapi’s ambitions for the upcoming Kosovo Superliga campaign.

Batatina praised the performances of Drita and Ballkani in European competitions.

“Ballkani and Drita have delivered outstanding performances. These are two teams that deserve high praise and applause. We all watch their matches with enthusiasm because our aim is for our teams playing in Europe — regardless of our league rivalries — to succeed. Their success in Europe improves our ranking and image, because we have the potential, quality, and talent. I think both teams have performed well,” Batatina said.

This year, in addition to Drita and Ballkani, Kosovo’s football representatives in Europe also included Prishtina and Malisheva.
