The San Antonio Spurs recorded a crucial 115–111 victory over the New York Knicks in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, played in the early hours of Tuesday local time in Kosovo.

With the win, the Texas-based team cut the series deficit to 2–1.

The Knicks had won the first two games, which the Spurs played at home, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

San Antonio star Victor Wembanyama was instrumental in the victory, finishing with 32 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Stephon Castle added 23 points.

For New York, Jalen Brunson scored 32 points, while OG Anunoby contributed 28.

The loss ended the Knicks’ 13-game playoff winning streak and marked their first defeat in 46 days.

The visiting Spurs started strongly and built a double-digit lead in the opening quarter, but the Knicks responded by overturning the deficit and taking a 64–57 advantage into halftime.

However, San Antonio fought back in the second half and produced a strong finish to secure the victory.

The game was played at Madison Square Garden, where the NBA Finals returned for the first time in 27 years.

Also in attendance was U.S. President Donald Trump, who has long made it known that he is a supporter of the team that plays at Madison Square Garden.

Game 4 will be played on Thursday, with the Spurs aiming to level the series at 2–2, while the Knicks will seek to extend their advantage to 3–1.
