The North Macedonian women's football champion Ljuboten has strengthened its squad with Azerbaijani national team player Milana Rahimova.

As the Tetovo-based club announced this afternoon, Rahimova is joining Ljuboten from the Turkish top-league club Ünye Gücü, CE Report quotes MIA.

"With her, we gain the necessary stability in defense, and it can be said that she will be one of the highest-quality players to have played in our league. We hope for a long and successful collaboration and the fulfillment of our set goals," Ljuboten stated.

Rahimova joined Ljuboten ahead of the upcoming start of the Champions League qualifiers, where the Macedonian champion will host the qualifying group that also includes teams from Bulgaria, the Faroe Islands, and Armenia.

Ljuboten’s opponent in the semifinal on July 30 at the "Petar Milosevski" training center will be the Faroe Islands champion NSÍ, while the other semifinal will feature NSA Sofia and Pyunik Yerevan.
