North Macedonia targets positive finish despite EuroVolley elimination

The head coach of North Macedonia’s women’s volleyball national team, Stefan Paunović, will be able to count on Mery Boškovska for the upcoming Euro qualifiers. Due to injury, she missed the matches played earlier this summer as part of the European Silver League, CE Report quotes MIA.

“I’m feeling better, and I’ve been with the national team for the past 15 days. I’ve recovered from the injury through physical therapy and individual exercises to strengthen the ankle. I hope to fully get back into rhythm. It feels good to be part of the team again. After this injury, I truly felt how hard it is when you want to help the team but can’t! I hope that with my return, I can contribute to the team,” said opposite hitter Mery Boškovska.

The matches against Greece and Austria cannot change North Macedonia’s fate in the EuroVolley 2026 qualification cycle, but they can serve as further confirmation that the team is growing from game to game.

“It’s true that we don’t have result pressure in the games against Greece and Austria, but we remain motivated to give our best and offer a good performance, especially in front of our home crowd,” Boškovska added.

North Macedonia will play against Greece on August 3 at home in Skopje (Boris Trajkovski Sports Center), and will visit Austria on August 9.
