Former England star hospitalized after being found unconscious
Former England football legend Paul Gascoigne has been admitted to hospital after being found unconscious in his bedroom. The 58-year-old was discovered by a close friend and immediately taken to intensive care, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Thankfully, his condition has now stabilized and he has been moved to a regular hospital room. His friend, Steve Forster, said that "hospital is the best place for Paul at the moment," adding thanks for the overwhelming support from the public and friends.
Gascoigne, popularly known as "Gazza", has struggled for years with serious health problems, including alcoholism and bipolar disorder. He has been admitted to rehab several times and has had serious episodes in the past, such as the 1998 incident when he consumed 32 glasses of whiskey in one night.
Gascoigne has 57 caps and 10 goals for England in his career. He made his debut with Newcastle, then played for Lazio in Italy and had his brightest period with Rangers in Scotland, where he won two league titles and earned the great respect of the fans.
Currently, despite recent concerns, his life is not in danger.
