By order of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Dimitar Georgiev has been appointed Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, the Ministry announced on Friday, CE Report quotes BTA

Born in Plovdiv on March 30, 1969, Georgiev served as a municipal councillor in Plovdiv (2015-2017) and was a member of the 44th National Assembly (2017-2021), focusing on youth and sports issues. He is also a long-time member of the Bulgarian Boxing Federation Board and the Bulgarian Football Union Executive Committee.

Georgiev holds a Master’s degree in Sport from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv.
