Edon Zhegrova looks set to leave Lille OSC, with club president Olivier Létang revealing that the club have no intention of trying to keep him beyond this summer, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The winger, who arrived in 2022 from Basel, is entering the final year of his contract and has repeatedly made it clear that he wants to leave for a new project.

Létang explained Lille's stance towards the Kosovo player in a press conference: "Edon has expressed his desire to leave. It does not seem appropriate to me to keep him with one year left on his contract in the current economic context of French football. His departure is something we are expecting," he stressed, following KosovaPress.

With that in mind, Létang explained that despite signing Marius Broholm, Lille will be looking for a new winger in order to have at least four players covering the flanks.

“If Edon stays, we would have four players on the flanks. If Edon leaves, we would have to find a fourth player. We have contacts. The big European teams have at least four players on the flanks to make the difference.”

However, it remains unclear where Zhegrova will end up, as La Voix du Nord reports that there is serious interest from Serie A, with Napoli and Atalanta paying close attention to the winger.
