For the first time in history, the ‘Egnatia’ stadium will host a Champions League match.

The confirmation was given by UEFA, which approved the new stadium in Rrogozhinë for the first qualifying round match, where the Albanian champions will play against Iceland’s Breidablik, CE Report quotes ATA.

The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 seats and meets the requirements for the match scheduled on July 8 at 21:00.

Previously, matches of the Under-17 European Championship have been played in this fourth-category stadium, and in 2027 it will also host matches of the Under-21 European Championship, which will take place in Albania.

Referees for this match have also been appointed, all from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The main referee will be Antoni Bandić, with assistant referees Amir Kadic and Nebojša Žugić.

The fourth official will be Antonio Tomić, while Nihad Ljajić will serve as the VAR referee.
