Kosovo Prepares for World Cup Qualifiers with Big Win

The Kosovo national football team has won the first friendly match at "Fadil Vokrri" as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The Dardanian team led by Franco Foda proved to be significantly better in the second half when they regained the lead.

Goalkeeper Amir Shaipi made a mistake by scoring in his own goal to give his opponent a quick and unexpected lead in the eighth minute.

After conceding the goal, the Dardanians took the initiative on the field by risking the Armenian goal, which was rewarded with the equalizer through Lumbardh Dellova in the twenty-third minute.

Just five minutes later, goalkeeper Shaipi conceded another goal, this time from Edruard Sperstian, giving the visitors a 1:2 lead, ending the first forty-five minutes with the same score.

In the second half, the Dardanians showed a completely different game, showing dominance on the field. This was rewarded in the result, initially by equalizing from the penalty spot with the goal of Mërgim Vojvoda in the sixty-first minute and the third goal, quite beautiful and with a very precise shot, was scored by Lindon Emërllahu in the seventy-second minute, reports KosovaPress.

Albion Rrahmani scored the fourth goal in the ninetieth minute and in the third minute of extra time his second goal for the 5:2 epilogue.

The match was played in front of five thousand spectators. Three days later, at the same "Fadil Vokrri" stadium, the Dardanian team will play the next friendly match against the Comoros Islands.

Kosovo begins qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in September and the first match will be against Switzerland in Basel.
