Barbosu Takes Bronze in Leipzig

Romania's Ana Barbosu clinched the bronze medal on uneven bars at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Leipzig, Germany. Barbosu, who was a reserve after finishing ninth in qualifications (13.400), replaced Germany’s injured Helen Kevric and scored 13.766 points in the final, CE Report quotes Agerpres

The gold went to Belgium’s Nina Derwael (14.466), while Hungary’s Bettina Lili Czifra took silver (14.100). Romania’s last uneven bars European medal was in 2008, when Steliana Nistor won silver.

Barbosu also earned bronze in the all-around on Thursday and will compete in the floor and beam finals. Compatriot Denisa Golgota will also perform in the beam final.
