Milena Todorova Secures Historic Fifth Place at Biathlon World Championships

Bulgarian biathlete Milena Todorova delivered a stellar performance at the Biathlon World Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, finishing fifth in the 12.5 km mass start. Missing just two targets, she crossed the finish line 24.3 seconds behind Sweden’s Elvira Oberg, who claimed her first World Championship title, CE Report quotes BTA

This marks Bulgaria’s best women’s result at the World Championships since 2004. Fellow Bulgarian Laura Hristova finished 26th, taking four penalty laps.

Oberg, previously a multiple-time silver and bronze medalist, took gold ahead of France’s Oceane Michelon and Norway’s Maren Kirkeeide. The competition concluded with the men’s 15 km mass start, where no Bulgarian athletes participated.
