Manuel Akanji Sidelined for Up to 10 Weeks After Injury

Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji will be out for eight to ten weeks after suffering an abductor injury against Real Madrid, Pep Guardiola confirmed on Friday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

"Surgery on Saturday. Eight to ten weeks out. Abductor injury is never easy," Guardiola stated in his press conference.

Akanji, 29, previously played for Basel and Borussia Dortmund, winning the German Super Cup (2019) and German Cup (2020/21). Since joining City, he has claimed major honors, including the 2023 UEFA Champions League, the 2023 English Super Cup, and back-to-back Premier League titles in 2023 and 2024.
