World No. 2 Iga Swiatek advanced to the Australian Open quarterfinals with a dominant 6–0, 6–1 victory over Germany’s Eva Lys in just 59 minutes. The five-time Grand Slam champion continues her impressive form as she eyes another title, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Swiatek will face American Emma Navarro, who secured a hard-fought win against Russia’s Daria Kasatkina, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5, in a thrilling three-set match.

In the men's singles, Australian Alex de Minaur defeated American Alex Michelsen in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6, 6-3, securing a spot in the quarterfinals. De Minaur will now face world No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner of Italy.

Meanwhile, Ben Shelton from the USA advanced after Frenchman Gael Monfils retired due to a back injury. The 22-year-old Shelton will compete in the quarterfinals for the second time, facing Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego.

The Australian Open action heats up as top players vie for the coveted title.
