Simona Halep: I refuse to accept the suspension decision, I am shocked and disappointed

The Romanian tennis player Simona Halep declared herself, on Tuesday, "shocked and disappointed" by the decision of the independent court that suspended her for a period of four years, which she said she refuses to accept. CE Report quoting Agerpres

"Today, an independent tribunal under the Anti-Doping Programme in Tennis announced an attempted decision in my case. Last year was the most difficult match of my life and, unfortunately, the struggle continues. I dedicated my life to the beautiful game of tennis. I take very seriously the rules that govern our sport and I am proud of the fact that I have never taken, knowingly or not, a prohibited substance. I refuse to accept their 4-year suspension decision. In a 126-page report, the tribunal found me guilty of both allegations made by the Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA): a positive test in a urine sample taken during the competition and a breach of the Sports Biological Passport Programme. My representatives and I presented compelling evidence to the tribunal in my defense, including numerous legitimate questions about the test findings in my biological passport (BP). Although I am grateful to have a verdict after numerous unfounded postponements and the feeling that I have been living in purgatory for a year, I am at the same time shocked and disappointed by the decision,'' Halep wrote in a statement published on Instagram.
