Targoviste Swimming Complex to Undergo Major Green Upgrade

Romania

The Targoviste Swimming Complex will be modernised with funding from the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme, focusing first on energy efficiency, Mayor Daniel Cristian Stan announced on Tuesday, CE Report quotes AGERPRES

The approved project, worth over 34 million lei, includes replacing gas boilers with air-to-water heat pumps, thermal insulation, solar panels, LED lighting, and a smart energy management system. A photovoltaic-covered parking area will also generate 198kW of electricity while shading 99 spaces. These upgrades are expected to reduce energy costs by around 80%.

A second phase will add a large outdoor pool, water slides, a year-round indoor aqua park, more parking, and food areas — with financing from EU funds and the South Muntenia Regional Development Agency.
