Belgian midfielder Xian Emmers has signed an eighteen-month contract with FC Argeș, the Superliga club announced on its official website.

This is the first transfer of the upcoming mercato period, which will begin on January 1, 2026, the club from Trivale noted, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

After starting his football career at KRC Genk, Xian Emmers was recruited by Inter Milan at the age of 16. In Italy, Emmers shone for the Primavera team, with which he won the league title (2016–17, 2017–18), the Coppa Primavera (2015–16), and the Supercoppa Primavera (2017–18). He made his senior debut at US Cremonese in Serie B, where he was loaned by Inter Milan. In his first senior season, the Belgian played 20 matches.

After that experience, he was loaned to SK Beveren in the Belgian top flight, and in the 2020–21 season, he moved to Almere City in the Dutch second division. Thanks to his strong performances at Almere, Xian Emmers was transferred in 2021 to Roda JC Kerkrade, for whom he scored 10 goals and delivered 10 assists in 41 matches.

Emmers then joined Rapid Bucharest in 2022. In Giulești, the Belgian quickly established himself. He wore the burgundy shirt in 59 matches and scored 5 goals. This summer, he parted ways with Rapid and moved to the United States, to Phoenix Rising FC, where he played 17 matches.

Born in Lugano, Switzerland, Emmers represents Belgium at the national team level, having been selected for all youth categories from U16 to U19. His market value is estimated at 250,000 euros, according to the specialist website transfermarkt.com.

He is the son of Marc Emmers, a former Belgian international with 37 caps, a participant in two World Cups, and a Cup Winners’ Cup champion with Mechelen.
