Romania Continues to Attract Strong Foreign Investment
Romania remains a top investment destination, as highlighted by the country’s robust foreign direct investment (FDI) balance, according to Alexandru Nazare, chairman of the PanEuropa Romania Pan-European International Union and a member of the National Bank of Romania’s Board of Directors, CE Report quotes Agerpres
Nazare emphasized that Romania's FDI balance, which currently stands at EUR 118 billion, reflects its strong appeal to investors. Notably, 71% of this balance is comprised of reinvested capital and profits. In 2023 alone, EUR 4.9 billion in profits were reinvested from a total of EUR 6.9 billion in FDI.
These figures indicate that investors are satisfied with their investments in Romania and are confident enough to reinvest. Nazare also stressed the importance of shifting focus from overly optimistic economic forecasts to a more realistic outlook for the country’s future growth.
