Exhibition on Martisor Tradition Opens at the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant

The National Museum of the Romanian Peasant will open the exhibition "Martisor - The Story of a Living Tradition: From Queen Marie to the Heart of Everyone" on Wednesday, CE Report quotes Agerpres

The exhibition explores the history, symbolism, and significance of the martisor in Romanian culture. A highlight is the collection of royal martisoare from Anghel Georgian’s personal collection, showcasing pieces exchanged in noble and royal circles over centuries. Visitors can also see the oldest known martisor in Romania, dating back to March 1, 1872.

A special section honors Queen Marie, celebrating her deep connection to Romanian traditions.

The exhibition runs from March 5 to March 23, open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. It will be closed on Mondays.
