Romania

People's Movement Party (PMP) Chairman Eugen Tomac has endorsed Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan as Romania’s next president, emphasizing the need for a leader who upholds the nation’s historical values, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Speaking at the PMP Congress on Saturday, Tomac criticized the current political class, citing issues such as corruption, mismanagement of public funds, and neglect of healthcare, education, and cultural heritage. He stressed that Romania must invest in its future to earn respect on the global stage.

"The presidential election must show that Romanians know how to choose a leader who rises to the values of history," Tomac stated, urging PMP delegates to support Dan’s candidacy in May.

He described Dan as "the most prepared, the most credible, and the best right-wing candidate Romania can offer today."
