Iran TV broadcast claims $10M bounty on Barron Trump

The United States Secret Service is aware of a video broadcast by Iranian state television discussing a potential plot to assassinate President Donald Trump’s youngest son, a spokesperson said on Tuesday, according to Reuters, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

“The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that may be perceived as a threat against those we protect. For operational security reasons, we do not discuss protective intelligence matters,” Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring said in an email.

In a three-minute video broadcast by Iran’s state television, a plot to assassinate Barron Trump, 20, was discussed. The video claimed that Barron Trump was being monitored and alleged that a $10 million bounty had been offered for his killing.

Washington and Tehran have maintained hostile rhetoric, particularly following the launch of the Israeli-American military campaign against Iran on February 28. Earlier this month, Reuters reported that the United States had received multiple warnings from Israel over the past year that Iran intended to assassinate Donald Trump. The White House leader himself has described himself as “number one on Iran’s kill list.”
