The strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States directly contributes to the peace, development, and independence of the Republic of Moldova," Gherman said.
She also expressed gratitude to the American people for supporting Moldova since 1992.
"More than $1.7 billion has been invested in assistance programs for economic development, the modernization of infrastructure and the energy sector, as well as the strengthening of democratic institutions. Dear American friends and partners, we wish you an Independence Day filled with joy and national pride," Gherman added.
The U.S. national holiday, celebrated annually on July 4, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress in 1776. Through the document, the 13 British colonies in North America declared their independence from Great Britain and laid the foundations of the United States.
Drafted primarily by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration of Independence established the founding principles of the American state, affirming that all people are created equal and possess fundamental rights.
