Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Presidential Advisor on Strategic Issues Oleksandr Kamyshin held talks in Tokyo with Japanese Defense Minister Koizumi Shinjiro.

The foreign minister said this on the social network X, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

"I informed Minister Koizumi about Russia’s large-scale attack against Kyiv and its consequences. Russian strategic bombers that fired cruise missiles at the sleeping people in Kyiv took off from an airbase in the Amursk region of Russia — not far away from Japan. This further underlines that Russia’s war against Ukraine is not that far away," the minister said.

He added that the sides discussed in detail the common security challenges, Ukraine's unique experience and ways to develop our cooperation, the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara, its expected outcomes, and further contacts.

Sybiha thanked Japan, its government and its people for their comprehensive support for Ukraine from the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion.

As reported, the head of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry is making working visits to the Republic of Korea and Japan from June 29 to July 2.
