Republic of Moldova and Poland will cooperate in the field of defense. The Moldovan government today approved a draft decision to begin negotiations and authorize the signing of an agreement on the matter, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii stated that the initiative stems from the need to update the interministerial agreement signed in 1998 by expanding important areas of cooperation in line with the current security environment.

According to the minister, the new framework will allow the strengthening of cooperation in areas such as defense policy and strategic planning, military training and exercises, military education and research, logistics, cybersecurity, strategic communication, as well as participation in international missions and operations.

“This expanded cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Poland will contribute to advancing the modernization process of the National Army, enhancing national security, and ensuring a safe and stable environment for citizens,” Nosatii said.

The defense minister emphasized that the provisions of the agreement comply with the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, including the principle of permanent neutrality, do not contradict Moldova’s international commitments, and do not require amendments to the national legal framework.
