Situation in Israel tense, says Albania’s Ambassador
Albania’s Ambassador to Israel, Meri Kumbe, said that the situation in the country has been tense over the past 48 hours, though no Albanian citizens have been harmed.
In a television interview, Kumbe confirmed that all Albanian nationals are safe and sheltered, and that the Embassy has provided assistance to 12 individuals who requested it.
She added that many more Albanians live in Israel and are in good condition, CE Report quotes ATA.
“The situation in Israel over the past 48 hours has been tense, with frequent airstrikes. Today there are fewer strikes, but they have been more powerful. There have been casualties, but no Albanian citizens have been affected; they are safe and sheltered according to reported procedures. So far, 12 Albanians have requested our assistance. Many more live in Israel, and all are doing well,” Kumbe said.
She noted that the strikes have targeted the entire territory of Israel, including civilian areas.
“Residents are organised near their homes, where each building has underground shelters. Municipal authorities also maintain larger, well-structured shelters for those without access at home. Our citizens have immediate access to private safety rooms in the residences where they are accommodated,” she said.
The Albanian Embassy in Tel Aviv remains in contact with all Albanian nationals in the country and is ready to provide assistance in any emergency.
“We have contact with every Albanian citizen and maintain ongoing communication for any situation or announcement that arises,” the Ambassador said.
