The Chair of the Commission for European Integration, Marcel Spătari, is representing the Republic of Moldova at the Meeting of Chairs of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC), taking place on January 11–12 in Cyprus.

The event brings together the chairs of parliamentary committees specialized in European affairs from European Union member states, focusing on the exchange of expertise and coordination regarding parliamentary scrutiny of European processes, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The meeting agenda includes two thematic sessions. The first is dedicated to presenting the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, structured around three main pillars: strengthening the EU’s strategic autonomy and resilience, promoting a more outward-looking Union, and reinforcing social cohesion.

The second session addresses European geopolitical challenges and ways to respond to external pressures, including the need to adjust certain EU policies in this context.

As reported by CE Report, founded in 1989, COSAC serves as a platform for cooperation and information exchange between the national parliaments of EU member states and the European Parliament.
