Grosu Meets Latvian, Swedish Officials in Geneva

Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu held bilateral talks with top officials from Latvia and Sweden during the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

In a meeting with Latvian Parliament Vice President Antonina Ņenaševa, Grosu highlighted Latvia’s continued support for Moldova’s EU accession, thanking her for the assistance in aligning with European standards.

Grosu also met Swedish Parliament Speaker Andreas Norlén, praising Sweden as one of Moldova’s largest bilateral donors. He emphasized Swedish aid in the energy sector and direct assistance to citizens, as well as Sweden’s ongoing support for Ukraine.

The Geneva event, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the UN, gathers global legislative leaders every five years to discuss democracy, sustainable development, and digital transformation. Grosu addressed the plenary on the role of parliaments in defending democracy and maintaining peace.
