Mussolini's granddaughter wins “celebrity” edition of Big Brother in Italy
Former Italian MP Alessandra Mussolini has won the “celebrity” edition of the reality TV show Big Brother in her country, which features public figures.
The 63-year-old granddaughter of fascist dictator Benito Mussolini was declared the winner during last night’s grand final, among 15 contestants, after 1,500 hours of television broadcasting, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
Celebrating her victory on the private television channel Canale 5, owned by Mediaset, Mussolini said:
“I enjoyed everything to the fullest, just as I am. I have no regrets.”
Mussolini will receive a prize of €100,000, half of which will be donated to charity.
Mussolini was a Member of the European Parliament and also served in both houses of the Italian Parliament. She was initially a member of a small neo-fascist, far-right party before later joining the ranks of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia party.
She is now a member of the right-wing populist League party, which is part of the governing coalition.
