Moldova Seeks Italy's Backing

Speaker of the Parliament Igor Grosu expressed Moldova’s desire for Italy’s backing in joining the EU during a meeting with Italy’s Minister of Justice Carlo Nordi. They discussed efforts to counter foreign interference and misinformation targeting Moldova’s electoral processes. Grosu warned about Russian criminal groups exploiting social media to spread propaganda and disrupt stability, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

They also addressed social protection issues, noting Italy’s support for Moldovans in Italy, and reviewed the Social Security Agreement’s ratification. A new Memorandum of Cooperation was signed, reinforcing Italy’s commitment to Moldova’s judicial reform and anti-corruption efforts.
