
Romania Backs Moldova’s EU Bid
Romania's Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu met with Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi in Bucharest on Friday during Popșoi’s visit for regional conferences, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) reported, CE Report quotes Agerpres
The two officials reaffirmed the close ties between Romania and Moldova, focusing on bilateral cooperation and Romania’s continued support for Moldova’s European integration.
Hurezeanu highlighted President-elect Nicușor Dan’s intention to visit Chișinău early in his term and emphasized Romania’s commitment to enhancing political dialogue and joint projects with Moldova.
The ministers also discussed regional security challenges and hybrid threats. Hurezeanu assured Romania's support for Moldova's reforms and EU accession efforts. Additionally, they touched on Moldova’s upcoming parliamentary elections and the Transnistrian conflict.
The Romanian minister thanked Moldova for facilitating the presidential election process at 64 polling stations organized by Romanian missions.
