Putin Unlikely to Offer Concessions Ahead of Trump Call

Politics

Russian President Vladimir Putin is confident that his forces can break through Ukrainian defenses by the end of the year to take full control of the four Ukrainian regions (Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson) annexed by Moscow in 2022, Bloomberg reports, citing a source familiar with the Russian leader’s plans, CE Report quotes ANSA.

This suggests that Putin is unlikely to offer significant concessions to U.S. President Donald Trump, the agency notes, ahead of the scheduled phone call between the two leaders today.

On their part, European officials fear that Trump may try to force a deal regardless.
